CALGARY · FAMILY-RUN SINCE 1999

Neighbours First.
Contractors Second.

Since 1999, we’ve been showing up, doing the job right, and treating every property like our own. It’s how we’ve built a business Calgary can count on.

BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOUR ISN’T JUST OUR NAME

Our Story

A construction worker with a hard hat, yellow shirt, and tool belt using a hammer to build a wooden structure under a blue sky.

Good Neighbour started the way you might expect: by helping a neighbour.

In 1999, while attending university, Kimball volunteered to shovel the driveway and sidewalk of a neighbour who needed a hand. Soon, other neighbours were asking for help too. Having grown up learning construction alongside his dad, Kimball brought a knack for hands-on work and problem solving, while Heidi brought the organization and ability to get the word out. Their skills made a natural team, and Good Neighbour Yard Services began.

What started with one neighbour has grown into a family business built around the same simple idea: do good work, treat people right, and take care of every property like it belongs to someone you know.

MISSON

Our mission is simple: to help Calgary homeowners and businesses care for, improve, and get more from their properties. Whether we’re maintaining a yard, solving a property challenge, or building something new, we bring practical thinking and creative solutions together to make every property safer, more comfortable, and better suited to the people who use it.

Take Pride in the Work

Whether we’re mowing a lawn or building something new, we don’t cut corners. We work thoroughly, pay attention to the details you can’t always see, and leave behind work we’re proud to put our name on.

Take Care of Our Community

Support the people and city that have supported our family business, from helping seniors care for their properties to building lasting relationships with the people we work with.

Do What You Say

Show up, communicate clearly, stand behind our work, and be someone our customers, employees, and trades can count on.

Be a Good Neighbour

Treat people with respect, lend a hand when you can, and care for every property as if it were your own.

MORE THAN A QUARTER CENTURY OF SERVICE

How we got here

1999

It Started With a Neighbour

A helping hand with one neighbour’s snow turned into a small business while Kimball and Heidi were still in university.

2005

Growing Year-Round

Good Neighbour expanded its landscaping and yard maintenance services, helping more Calgary clients care for their properties through every season.

2008

Building More

Drawing on Kimball’s lifelong construction experience, Good Neighbour expanded further into framing, garages, decks, fences, additions and larger property improvements—bringing the same careful approach to building for Calgary’s unique conditions.

TODAY

Still a Family Business

Our four kids have grown up pitching in, from mowing lawns and shovelling snow to bookkeeping and beyond. Today, Good Neighbour continues to serve Calgary with a family team and trusted crews, clients, and trades.

BUILT ON RELATIONSHIPS

The Neighbours Behind the Name

Good Neighbour has always been about more than taking care of properties; it’s about taking care of people too. That means supporting seniors in our community, giving back to the city that has supported our family business, and creating a workplace where good people want to stay. Some of our employees have been with us since the very beginning, more than 25 years ago. We’re proud of the relationships we’ve built along the way, and just as proud to still be here, working alongside many of the people who helped build Good Neighbour from the start.
